As the residential arm of an experienced national contracting company of over 25 years, there’s not a day when RenovateResidential by ProGroup is working on a site where safety isn’t taken into consideration. In compliance with OSHA regulations, we always make sure to take every precaution in order to avoid the “fatal four” incidents; falling, getting struck by an object, electrocution, and getting stuck in between objects. To prevent any sort of injuries, we do everything and anything we can to ensure the safety of you, our workers, residents, and any other persons that may pass by our construction site.
Safety is Always a Part of the Planning
Each project we start always has a planning process. Here, we always include a safety plan to keep in mind what each of our workers and other persons will be exposed to. Thinking ahead, we also keep in mind what dangers there may be to each step of our process. In doing so, we can prevent many potential incidents through keeping our clients and crew well versed in preventative measures. In addition to this, we also keep tabs on the distance from local first responders, medical facilities and hospitals, emergency procedures, evacuation plans, and always keep a safety manual on hand for any personnel to refer to. That way, any risk for injury can decrease significantly before we even set foot on our client’s location.
Training Our Workers
Not only is training our new and upcoming team members a staple in making RenovateResidential efficient, but keeping our returning veterans of our team well versed in our safety protocol is just as important to us, to make sure every team member is on the same page going into a project. Taking this small step to include everyone in our safety training keeps everyone’s head in the game and helps us reduce the risk of injury for everyone around. This can include, but isn’t limited to, evacuation plans, equipment training, emergency protocol, onsite rules and regulations, local/state laws and regulations, and proper training in our safety equipment. This helps us keep each and every crew member safe, along with those who may be in passing during our renovations.
Keeping our Protocols Up-to-Date
Maintaining the safety protocols that we rehearse our crew members is key with up and coming technology within both equipment and the modern day renovation process. During each phase of our projects, we also make sure that our workers are provided with the proper tools, so there isn’t any sense of improvisation with the execution of our renovations. Without any improvisation, the risk of injury is dramatically decreased. And with a safety analysis check during each phase of our project, we make sure that our workers are equipped with every necessary tool to execute the project exactly how it’s meant to be performed.
Daily Prioritizing of Safety
With a daily reminder of safety protocols on site, our workers are always keeping safety in mind during every working day. Simply by addressing the safety hazards before each day, any potential injuries can be prevented by reminding all of those working on the day of the project, making them aware of the potential dangers they may face. Talking about these preventative measures on a daily basis helps our workers focus on construction safety, reminding each other to act upon those safety rules, and in turn, making the construction site an overall safer place to work.
